Location: University of California at Berkeley, Berkeley, CA
Architects: Charles Moore; Moore Ruble Yudell
This 200,000 square foot, three-building complex includes Administration, Classroom and Faculty wings; all set on a beautifully landscaped site with a large courtyard central to the facility. O'Mahony & Myer was retained to provide complete interior and exterior lighting design services, and all exterior lighting systems electrical engineering services. We developed custom-designed, decorative interior and exterior wall-sconce luminaires in close coordination with Charles Moore, as part of the overall illumination design package. Interior lighting systems included extensive programmable dimming and control systems.
The complex is linked by a beautifully landscaped site with a central courtyard and walkways linking the complex to the rest of the campus. An exterior wall sconce was custom-designed to complement the family of interior custom lighting fixtures, creating a unified and integrated approach to the lighting for the entire project. A facility-wide dimming and control system was specified to provide an energy efficient and cutting edge lighting system.
